Comics of the Console Wars.

Even with the 180, Microsoft's goodwill account is dangerously low - and given all their recent shenanigans, it's no surprise most of the comics I'm about to present are lampooning the Redmond crew. That said, you're well aware this is a generally partisan blog and that I've loved watching Microsoft squirm for the past six weeks - so let's all laugh at them together, shall we?

This post contains a metric ton of insubstantial computer bits, which may clog up your phone or console browser.  If loading a ton of images mucks with your current viewing means, you may wish to wait until you can check this post out on a beefier machine after the break.  (Mogs taught me how to make one!)

But just for starters, let's all enjoy the inclusive warm & fuzzies of Fanboys.

And there's thirty more to go:

From here on out, all comics are in reverse chronological order, starting with Microsoft's 180, and going all the way back to the PS4 reveal (as best as I can - some comics are undated).

Enjoy!  All these can be clicked for embiggening purposes, of course - which will also turn it into a handy slideshow!  Let's start off with the original console wars webcomic...

And maybe, yeah, you'd think it would kinda' shut people up, but... well heck, it sure didn't work on me.

Nerf Now doesn't always nail it.

...but Penny Arcade often does.

I actually had a comic right here from Ctrl+Alt-Del - which is generally not very funny and rather... dumb - but they did have one approaching-funny comic on the subject of the new consoles.  But it was also a date rape joke and not that funny, so click here if you wanna' check it out.

This Corpse Run is actually one of my faves:

Poor, poor Microsoft.  Poor, poor Don Mattrick:

Sorry.

Man, Scott's stuff is like a textbook study on facial expressions.

Ohohoh.  That's a good one (sorry, Chamberlain - it was a different time).

Pointing out how incredibly inept Microsoft's PR job was is timeless, however.

Bow chika-bow-wow.

I... don't get it.  Is it a movie reference?  Ooh!  Remember Adam Orth?

(no date)

He had it comin'.  You don't lip off to the internet if it can cost you anything.  That's why you don't know where I work.

The Xbox One reveal was pretty one-sided.

...and suffered a gaping chasm where actual information should've been.

The console did lack that "wow" factor - but, thankfully, inFamous: Second Son and its indie lineup do not.

Butts are a cornerstone of logically sound decisions, and critical thinking.  Well, to paraphrase Aristotle.

(Sigh.)  If only.

And, finally, let us reflect on what the hell we're doing with our lives (no regrets, here).
