A very short REVIEW - The Last of Us.

The Last of Us is a heavily story-driven, linear, third-person stealth-heavy survival-action game.

It is, in each and every way we measure games, astonishing - representing the absolute state-of-the-art of its form, and doing its part to push the medium forward as a whole.

I cannot recommend it strongly enough.

  1. Had to drive down to Gamestop (who I don't typically buy games from) to track down the last Survival Edition they had in stock. All the online retailers were out.

I'll be interested to hear sales numbers for this game, as this is the first time I've seen a Sony 1st party game really fly off the shelves. From what I was hearing, some retailers were even running out of regular copies.

  2. VGChartz (which must always be taken with a cubic foot's worth of salt) estimates the first-week sales at 1.3 million, which beats out BioShock Infinite's (estimated) 1.1 earlier in the year.

It's a fantastic showing, from Naughty Dog.
